SA-Animal Cancer Association was established as a need for animals with cancer. As the 4th in the world, SA-Animal Cancer Association will fill the gap for the animals with cancer in Southern Africa. Cancer has always been seen as a human illness, but little does everybody know that animals are diagnosed and die of cancer as humans do. In one study, 45% of the dogs that reached 10 years of age or older died of cancer.
is the first organisation in Africa that will focus on cancer and animals. SA-Animal Cancer Association has 5 main objectives:
To fund a portion of the studies of 1 student in the veterinary field to further specialise in Animals with Cancer at an institute of our choosing.
To assist the Onderstepoort Oncology department with monthly resources.
To assist reputable Animal Shelters with shortfalls.
To assist rural areas & rural Animal Shelters with sterilisations.
To educate the public on the 10 Warning signs of Animals with Cancer.
To be the one-stop NPC in Southern Africa, with information on animals with cancer. To fund research in animals with cancer. To provide education and information.
To fight for the health of the animals who cannot speak for themselves. To be transparent.
